Webinar Recording: 8 Tips for Working on Global Teams

Working on global teams presents challenges many people don't anticipate. We assume our approaches to meetings, deadlines, feedback, and collaboration are simply "how work gets done." But, work practices are culturally influenced and they can create friction when teammates operate from different frameworks.

The difference between global teams that thrive and those that struggle comes down to awareness. With a education and reflection, you can learn to spot potential issues before they become big problems. You'll recognize when your instincts about "professional communication" or "efficient meetings" might not translate across cultures and time zones.

Attendees walked away with:

  • Awareness of which business practices are culturally influenced

  • Frameworks for recognizing potential challenges before they escalate

  • Practical strategies for communication, scheduling, relationship-building, and collaboration across cultures

  • Techniques for approaching differences with curiosity rather than frustration

  • 3 action steps you can implement immediately to improve team dynamics

  • Access to additional resources and training from Culture Coach

Organizations are losing between $4,000 and $21,000 per employee annually due to burnout and disengagement, according to a recent study by the American Journal of Preventive Medicine. Adding up to approximately $5 million per year for a company with 1,000 employees. Meanwhile, resilient employees are five times more likely to be healthy, 80% less likely to feel depressed, and half as likely to leave their jobs. The gap between struggling organizations and thriving ones isn't luck, it's resilience.

With organizational restructuring, industry disruptions, and rapid technology shifts now the norm rather than the exception, traditional "just push through it" mentalities are falling flat. Here's why: Rigid planning breaks under pressure. Generic motivational advice creates more frustration than forward momentum. As an employee, this is frustrating. As an organization, this is when you lose the engagement of employees. The question isn't whether employees will face significant transitions, but whether they'll have the tools to thrive through them rather than just survive.

Safety Training that Appeals to Gen Z and Mobile First Workers

Construction companies face a dual challenge: meeting strict safety training requirements while engaging a workforce that learns completely differently than previous generations. With Gen Z and Millennials now making up most entry-level and mid-career construction workers, traditional hour-long safety presentations and dense training manuals are falling flat. Mobile first workers who are never near a desk also struggle with traditional training and safety briefings.

Here's why: Generation Z watches an average of 68 videos per day across social media platforms, and nearly 60% prefer learning on YouTube to learning through apps, textbooks, or group activities. They're not disengaged; they're wired to consume information differently. The question isn't whether to adapt your safety training, but how to do it effectively while maintaining compliance and rigor.
